Product Donation Guidelines

Applicants should keep the following in mind when applying for a product donation:

1. Organizations considered for charitable donations must be tax-exempt as defined in Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Service Code.

2. Product is given when the budget allows, there is sufficient inventory, and CAROLINA PAD™ feels it is a good fit for the company’s charitable giving objectives.

3. Previous donation is not necessarily precedence for future support/donation.

4. CAROLINA PAD™ will review only one proposal per organization per 12-month period.

5. Product requests that are for media placement, sponsorship, or promotion are subject to other guidelines not listed here.

6. Additional documentation may be requested.

7. The product donation process is competitive. While many requests are worthy and meet guidelines and eligibility criteria, not all requests can be granted.

8. CAROLINA PAD™ reserves the right to interpret, apply, and administer the terms of the CAROLINA PAD™ product donation program in its sole discretion.

To qualify for a product donation, applicants must adhere to the following set of guidelines:

• The organization or event for which the product is being donated must focus on:

- Youth/family issues

- Educational or school-related programs that support student progress

- School-related arts and cultural activities

- Initiatives designed to empower women to improve their lives

If the product is for an event, requests must be received at least one month prior to the event.
  • Organization applying for donation is responsible for shipping costs.
  • Determination of the amount of product donated will be made on a case-by-case basis.
  • All requests should be made through the CAROLINA PAD™ Product Donation Application form and submitted via fax, e-mail, or mail.
Events programs not eligible for donation include:

  • Personal use/Individual pursuits and needs.

  • Political parties/campaigns.

  • Organizations that practice or promote discriminatory policies/practices based on race, religion, ethnicity, age, gender, national origin, language, sexual orientation, or physical handicap.

  • Social events.

  • For-profit organizations.

  • Churches – unless the request is relative to a school or a specific charitable program open to the public (i.e., a soup kitchen).

The Review Process
Annually, the CAROLINA PAD™ senior management team will determine the general area of need on which to focus its support and will establish an annual budget for Sponsorships and Charitable Contributions. A Sponsorships and Charitable Contributions Committee, comprising CAROLINA PAD™ employees, administers the giving program.

The Sponsorships and Charitable Contributions Committee will periodically review applications for either Charitable Contributions or Sponsorships with consideration to specific criteria, including:

  • An evaluation of the requesting organization's mission, past history, success and a determination of whether the request is appropriate for CAROLINA PAD™ participation and support.

  • A review of the current budget and product inventory.

  • A determination of the degree to the program or event will benefit the community.
