Attention
Adults should supervise all arts and craft activities. Children and others should exercise caution when using sharp tools such as scissors. It is recommended that children aged 4 years to six years use blunt-tip scissors. Children six years and older can use pointed-tip.
- Construction paper
- Empty oatmeal box
- Scissors
- Glue
- Hole punch
- Ribbon
- String
- Any other decoration you’d like to add
- Cut the bottom off the oatmeal box so that both ends are open
- Cover the box with construction paper
- Glue the paper onto the box
- Decorate your box
- Glue ribbons onto the inside of the box
- Punch four evenly spaced holes along the top of the windsock
- Cut two foot-long pieces of string
- Tie the opposite ends of the string to holes on the other side of the box
- Join the center of the two strings
- Cut a longer piece of string and tie to the center of the joining strings
- Hang your windsock from the longer piece of string
